Preston Schnoor is an independent filmmaker based in San Antonio, Texas and Norman, Oklahoma.After years of experimenting with videography, Preston got his start in film as a Production Assistant on People Walk Dogs Late at Night in the Suburbs, observing the roles of a professional set. Inspired by the project, he began producing his own films that have gone on to win awards at festivals. Through his work, he has frequently handled all aspects of production.
Beginning his career as a Production Assistant on a high-budget short film in San Antonio, Preston observed how a professional crew operates. From there, he began taking on his own projects: writing, directing, editing, and wearing every hat needed to bring a film to life.Since then, Preston has been on a variety of sets, both independently and within the studio system. While visiting the set of HBO’s Task, he observed the pace and structure of a large-scale production. He has edited with acclaimed indie director Mickey Reece and worked with action filmmaker Don Michael Paul in rapid-fire, on-set film workshops. His work has brought him to New York City, filming a music video with Long Island singer Dan Cooney that received press attention for his storied imagery.On set and in the edit bay, Preston’s focus on collaboration and his ability to connect with cast and crew have made him a go-to on set, with a reputation of being professional and easy to work with.
