Sam Lerma, is an award winning filmmaker living in San Antonio, Texas. He has worked for two San Antonio news stations, KABB/FOX29, and KSAT-12, as a news photographer and video journalist. Sam’s last films have gone on to screen at several major film festivals, including: SXSW, The Los Angeles International Latino Film Festival, and The New York International Latino Film Festival. The films have brought home the Best Director award at the Long Island Latino Film Festival, the Jury prize at the SAL Film Festival, the Chris Caddel Flatland Filmmaker Award at the Flatland Film Festival, the Award of Excellence in Filmmaking at the Canada International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival, and Best Regional Film at the South Texas International Film Festival. Lerma won Best San Antonio Filmmaker Award at the 2012 San Antonio Film Festival, and was voted “Best San Antonio Filmmaker,” by the SA Current in 2015.
